Riviera Maya stretches along 140 kilometers of Caribbean coastline in the southeastern section of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. Ideal weather conditions, endless white sandy beaches, crystal clear turquoise ocean and varied accommodation options have made it world-famous as a vacation destination.

The actual Riviera Maya starts 17 kilometers south of Cancun Mexico international airport at the seaside village of Puerto Morelos. It includes magical and fascinating places like Playa del Carmen, Puerto Aventuras, Akumal and Tulum which is the only ancient Mayan city in the region with the ocean as a backdrop. The southern end of the Mayan Riviera is the town of Carrillo Puerto, with its colonial air and Mayan traditions.

Just like the entire Yucatan Peninsula, the Riviera Maya culture offers intriguing Mayan ruins, incomparable beaches with crystal clear water and lots of places to stay with numerous activities to enjoy. Naturally, most visitors enjoy the fantastic opportunities available for scuba diving and snorkeling on one of the greatest coral reefs in the world, the reef that is between Cozumel and Playa del Carmen. Others prefer sailing and kite-surfing which are also well adapted to local conditions. The region’s network of underground rivers, lagoons, many cenotes, mangroves and jungles provide the ideal surroundings in which to experience nature at its purest.
